Eucalyptus Beginner’s Guide – Updated v1.1

Due to some changes effected in the latest update of UEC packages on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx, we have updated the Eucalyptus Beginner’s Guide to reflect those changes. Thus we have Eucalyptus Beginner’s Guide – Version 1.1. We’re also working on the Eucalyptus Beginner’s Guide on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat. Stay tuned to the blog to stay informed. Feedback is welcome.

  1. Hello i am following your guide of UEC9.10. I just have donwload your new guide but i have a question.

    On UEC9.10 i can execute windows instances but it can be possible on UEC10.04?

    • Hi,

      The new guide v1.1 is for Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick). If you want to use Ubuntu 10.04, please follow v1.0 of the guide.
      But after doing updates, eucalyptus uses ‘raw’ as its disk format instead of ‘qcow2’. Please make sure that the disk you create with kvm-img is in raw or qcow2 based on whether you have applied the latest updates to Ubuntu 10.04 or not.
